OUR AUDITION PROCESS
Our audition process is one night during the first few weeks of September! The auditions will take place in Chase Dance Studio inside Chase Physical Education Center from 7pm-9pm!
We will check you into our system at the door! During the check-in, we will give you a number to wear. We ask that you arrive early in order to move through the check-in quickly and so you have time to stretch on your own prior to the audition.

What should you wear when auditioning for OSDT?
- You must come ready to dance! This includes: dance clothes, dance shoes (turners & sneakers), hair tightly secured.

What are the required skills?
We will start off the auditions by going across the floor. We will ask that you demonstrate the following skills that we utilize in many of our routines:

Jumps:
-Left & Right leap
-Center leap
- Calypso
- Turning Disc Jump
- Firebird/ Ring Leap
​
Turns:
-Clean Double & Triple Pirouettes
-Leg Hold Turns
-Turns In Second (8 Count)
​
Flexibility:
-Left & Right Kicks
-Tilt
-Left & Right Splits
-Center Split
​
Additionally, special tricks are not required. That being said, if you have the following special skills we would love to see them demonstrated!

-Ariels
-Head Springs
-Kip Ups
-Rubberband
-Etc..
​
Once we have completed the technique portion of the audition, we will move to the center to learn a contemporary and hiphop combination. These will be taught at a fast pace but do not be afraid to ask questions as we go! We will split everyone into small groups to perform each combo for us!
